GPPS (General Purpose Polystyrene)
GPPS (General Purpose Polystyrene) is a clear, amorphous thermoplastic polymer produced by the polymerization of styrene monomer. It is known for its excellent transparency, rigidity, and ease of processing. GPPS is lightweight, cost-effective, and widely used in applications requiring clarity, dimensional stability, and high-quality surface finishing.
- Density: ~1.04–1.06 g/cm³
- Appearance: Transparent, glass-like, brittle solid
- Melting Point (Softening Point): ~90–100°C
- Chemical Resistance: Resistant to diluted acids and bases, but sensitive to organic solvents
- Processing: Easily processed by injection molding, extrusion, and thermoforming
- Packaging: Available in 25 kg bags or bulk packaging solutions
Storage and Handling
GPPS should be stored in a dry and cool place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep packaging sealed to prevent contamination or dust absorption.
